Gustafson Photo Safari is owned and managed by the award-winning nature photographer Todd Gustafson. We operate expert-guided tours and safaris to Africa, South America, North America and other nature photography locations worldwide. We design our tours with photography in mind. Our objective is to get you to the best locations, in the right vehicles and with great advice to capture wonderful images. In East Africa we use vehicles to our own design that are configured especially for photographers – never more than three per vehicle. Everyone gets a clear shot.
We know Africa. Todd grew up in Tanzania and has made more than twenty safaris in recent years. We design custom itineraries to get us to the right places at the right times to give the best chance to view wildlife. Our tour leaders are all professional photographers who are keen to share their expertise. Our local guides understand photographers needs (quality and angle of light, the need for an early start etc). They know the difference between seeing a subject and photographing it. We choose high quality lodgings close to the action. Our repeat business means we get great service from their staff. Lodgings are also chosen with photography opportunities in mind. Many of the bird photographs on this site were taken on the grounds of our lodges. Our safaris are competitively priced. Notice that travel days (air time getting to and from the tour start/end points) are not counted in the number of safari days. Come tour with us and appreciate nature photography at its best! |
